NORTH KOHALA, HAWAII ISLAND (KHNL) - There is a light at the end of the tunnel for North Kohala residents who have suffered water woes for almost a year now. T
At the Honokane Nui canyon, the October 2006 earthquake destroyed a major ditch here, cutting off water to 100 ranchers and farmers.
On August 23, a team from the state, and the company that maintains the ditch, Surety Corporation, went into the canyon to survey what needs to be done. The work is expected to start in mid-September.
