Senator Hemmings Urges Governor Lingle to Defend Superferry

HONOLULU (KHNL) - Senator Fred Hemmings is urging the county governments, the mayors, the federal government and Governor Lingle to defend the Superferry's right to do business.

"The recent Supreme Court decision and the extremist deeds not only are contrary to the interest of Superferry and the majority of people in Hawaii who support it, but also sends a signal out to the rest of the world that Hawaii is not a place you want to do business," said Senator Hemmings.

Senator Hemmings wants Governor Lingle to intervene in this situation, including mobilizing the Hawaii National Guard if necessary to restore safety and security.
