By Minna Sugimoto

WILHELMINA RISE (KHNL) -- Still no answer as to what sparked a fire that destroyed two homes on Wilhelmina Rise Monday morning. Investigators plan to return to the scene to continue their probe Wednesday.

About 30 firefighters rushed to Mariposa Drive to battle the smoke and flames. Kelly Ferreira, her sister and a friend managed to escape their burning house after their smoke alarm sounded.

No one was inside the second home.

Fire officials estimate the total damage at $700,000.
