HONOLULU (KHNL)- For Scott Sato, Pearl City's victory at the Junior Little League World Series rekindled old memories.
In 1984, Sato was the 1st baseman for the Pearl City junior league champs, now 23 years later, his son Keanu is picking up where dad left off.
"It took that long for a repeat to come and it feels good because we're the first father and son team to win the world series," Keanu said, "Words can't really describe how it feels."
Before taking the field, the 2007 squad paid homage to their predecessors.
"It was an honor that they touched our 1984 banner before every game," Scott said "That was something."
Plus having been there, done that, the elder sato said its a moment you just never forget.
"He just said to cherish the moment because its a once in a lifetime thing," Keanu said.
Who knows, 13 years from now, could it be a 3rd generation celebration.
"I've thought about it," Scott said, "That's something special and hopefully it can happen."
