MAKAPUU (KHNL) - A woman is in critical condition after colliding her motorcycle into oncoming traffic Saturday morning. According to police, the 37-year-old woman was traveling east along Kalanianaole Highway at about 8 o'clock on her Kawasaki motorcycle when she crossed the center line. She collided into an oncoming car.
The woman was thrown from her motorcycle, where she suffered head and bodily injuries. She was taken to Queen's Medical Center in critical condition. She was wearing a helmet.
The driver of the car was not injured.
Kalanianaole Highway was closed for a few hours between Sealife Park and the Makapuu lookout for investigation.
It does not appear that speed or alcohol were factors, according to police.
