Dog Devastated by Court's Decision Despite Mexico's Dismissal

HONOLULU (KHNL) - Duane "Dog" Chapman celebrated after learning a Mexican court had dismissed all charges against him, his son Leland and associate Tim Chapman.

But Thursday, the Dog got word the state's court upheld the bond, despite a 15-page decision from Mexico stating the case has been dismissed.

"We're devastated," said Chapman.  "We love this country and are proud to be Americans so this is absolutely devastating that we can now roam free in Mexico but not in our own country."

The U.S. Office of International Affairs in Washington D.C. issued an order not to release the bond.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Ronald Johnson has requested more time to work on the case, despite the 11-month interim since the arrest of the Chapmans.
