Man Burned in House Fire

ANAHOLA, Kauai (KHNL) - A Kauai man was flown to Honolulu Thursday for treatment of first and second-degree burns.

Officials say the 42-year-old man was burned when he ran back into a house in Anahola that caught fire early Thursday morning.

He was first taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital before being transferred to Straub Clinic and Hospital.

Three other people in the five-bedroom house escaped unharmed before flames destroyed the 19-hundred-square-foot wooden structure.

Damage is estimated at $420,000.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
