Large Box Jellyfish Influx Keeps Lifeguards Busy

WEST OAHU (KHNL) -  The Ocean Safety and Lifeguard Services Division was kept busy Wednesday with a large influx of box jellyfish impacting West Oahu beaches.

More than 1000 of the stinging creatures were found on Makahu Beach and more than 500 were picked up at Pokai Bay Wednesday morning.

The influx on the South Shore was mild in comparison with only a little more than 350 collected at Waikiki Beach.
