LIHUE (KHNL) - A Kauai man who pleaded no contest to 20 counts of animal cruelty for leaving his dogs without food and water has been sentenced to six months in jail.
Steve Cummings was ordered to surrender his 17 surviving dogs.
He must also pay the Kauai Humane Society around $12,000 for the care it gave the animals after they were rescued in December.
