Drought Watch on KHNL News 8

HONOLULU (KHNL) - With water shortages on Hawaii and Maui, wildfires across the state, and vegetation drying out and turning brown, many areas in the state are under watch for drought.
KHNL News 8 is introducing "Drought Watch" to keep residents of our island chain informed of the latest conditions, water restrictions and conservation measures and the impact of prolonged dry periods on agriculture, business, tourism, recreation and on people's own homes and property.

Drought is not uncommon in Hawaii and it can have devastating and long-reaching impacts on our land and the economy of the state.  The KHNL News 8 team will provide daily updates during its newscasts on drought conditions, offer important information on how to conserve precious water resources and stay in close contact with experts who are monitoring the drought.
