HONOLULU (KHNL) - The Hawaii Department of Human Services notified more than 1,000 drug companies about a new state law to provide rebates.

Drug companies whose drugs are sold in the Hawaii Rx Plus prescription drug discount program will be required to provide rebates to DHS.

The rebates will be passed to the Hawaii Rx Plus members through deeper discounts.  There are about 100,000 members currently in the program.
