U.S. Army Will Hold Prescribed Burn at Schofield

SCHOFIELD BARRACKS (KHNL) - Army specialists will conduct an annual prescribed burn of the 1,100-acre range training area this week to enable annual range maintenance.

The training is part of the U.S. Army Hawaii's ongoing plan to manage and protect range areas, decrease the danger of wild fires and survey for depleted uranium.

Actual dates and times for the burn will depend on the weather.  Burning may begin as early as Tuesday and may last until Thursday.  Hours of actual burning will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
