One Dead, Two Injured in South Shore Accident

KOLOA, Kauai (KHNL) - A 14-year-old Kapa‘a boy who was seriously injured in a Koloa crash Thursday night died at Queen's Medical Center.

A 16-year-old Lihue male and a 19-year-old California male were also injured in the crash and were taken to Wilcox for treatment. Their condition is not known.

A preliminary report indicates that the 14-year-old driver was driving eastbound on Koloa Road near the water tank at around 10:05 pm when he lost control of the car. He then skidded onto the shoulder of the road and crashed into a tree.

The other males were passengers in the car. Police are continuing their investigation of the accident.
