Young Girl Seriously Injured in Head-On Collision

WAIMANALO (KHNL) - A 19-month-old girl has been taken to the Queen's Medical Center in serious condition after a head-on collision on Kalanianaole Highway Sunday afternoon. The collision occurred at around 3 o'clock and involved three cars. One of the cars -- containing the 19-month-old, her 34-year-old mother, and 9-year-old sister -- flipped. The mother and 9-year-old girl were able to get out, but the 19-month-old needed to be extracated.

Two other women and two 3-year-old girls were taken to Castle Medical Center in stable condition, according to Emergency Services spokesperson Bryan Cheplic.

None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
