Gov. Linda Lingle Gov. Linda Lingle

(KHNL) - Governor Linda Lingle vetoed a bill Tuesday, relating to pedestrian safety. The bill would have spent $3 million over two years for county pedestrian improvements.

Governor Lingle objected money from the project that would have come out of the State Highway Fund.

Governor Lingle says the bill can be amended by the Legislature in special session to ensure the moneys for pedestrian safety come from the general fund.
