HONOLULU (KHNL) -- A Kalihi man accused of stabbing his wife to death will be held without bail pending the outcome of his case.

Victorio Barayuga pleaded not guilty at his Circuit Court arraignment Monday morning. His trial is set for September.

The 61-year-old is accused of killing his wife at their Akina Street home last month. Sixty-three-year-old Liwliwa Barayuga died from a stab wound to her chest.

The suspect faces an enhanced murder charge because the victim was over the age of 60. If convicted, he faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.
