Olowalu Fire Under Control

OLOWALU, Maui (KHNL) - Fire officials say the brush fire at Olowalu on Maui is under control as of 1:50 pm Wednesday.

Fire crews completed mop up operations. The fire that started eight days ago burned an estimated 2,600 acres and forced the evacuation of residents in the Olowalu Village and
a subdivision in Launiupoko.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
