3.7 Quake Strikes Big Island

HONOMU, Hawaii (KHNL) - The United States Geological Survey reported that an earthquake of 3.7 magnitude struck the island of Hawaii at 12:28 PM Tuesday.

No injuries or damage was reported and no tsunami warning was issued.

People as far away as Kailua-Kona reported feeling the temblor.

The epicenter of the quake was one mile west of Honomu, near Akaka Falls State Park. The area is approximately 12 miles north of Hilo.
