Human Remains in Ewa Beach More than 50 Years Old

EWA BEACH (KHNL) - State officials are still trying to decide whether to keep unearthed human remains at an Ewa Beach park, or relocate them.

Fishermen say they found some bones at Oneula Beach Park, also known as Hau Bush, a couple of weeks ago. They thought the remains belonged to an animal.

But Thursday, they stumbled upon a human skull.

The state's Historic Preservation Division believes the remains are more than 50 years old. Honolulu police say they're not investigating.
