HONOLULU (KHNL) - The Bishop Museum has been under renovation and Tuesday we got a sneak peak .
The only thing you would recognize is the whale suspended from the ceiling, and even that is draped in plastic to protect it.
Workers are putting the finishing touches on ornate pillars, but the process is slow and costly. The Bank of Hawaii donated $75,000 toward the renovations, and more donations are needed.
"The Hawaiian Hall is one of the jewels of the islands and it's something I think is very important," explained Mike Chinaka from the Bishop Museum.
