HONOLULU (KHNL) -- A Kalihi man accused of stabbing his wife to death before cutting himself is indicted on an enhanced murder charge. If convicted, he faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Tuesday, an Oahu grand jury determined there's enough evidence to send Victorio Barayuga's case to trial. The 61-year-old had an obvious injury to his right wrist, when he made his first court appearance Friday.
Police rushed to his home on Akina Street June 13th. They found his wife, 63-year-old Liwliwa Barayuga, dead with a stab wound to her chest.
Prosecutors sought the enhanced charge because the victim was over the age of 60.
