Maui Man in Drug Case Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison

HONOLULU (KHNL) - A Maui man was sentenced Monday to eight years and one month in prison.

44-year-old Basho Elliot of Lahaina was convicted in February on two counts of conspiracy to distribute and attempting to possess with intent to distribute more than one-pound of cocaine.

Prosecutors say Elliot arranged to have a FedEx parcel containing more than four pounds of cocaine sent to co-conspirator John Meston in 2003.

They say Elliot and Meston were arrested after Meston delivered the parcel to Elliot's home.
