Governor Considering 33 Bills for Potential Vetoes

(KHNL) - Governor Linda Lingle is threatening to veto 33 bills including bills to fund pedestrian improvements, a bill that provides immunity from prosecution for a person who abandons a newborn baby who is less than 72 hours old and a bill that would regulate the term "Hawaiian honey" in advertising.

The Governor has until July 10 to veto or sign the bills.  Any bills not signed by the deadline automatically become law on July 11.  To date, 208 bills have become law this session.

For a list of bills signed into law to date or to read the Governor's statements of objections on previously vetoed bills, visit the Governor's website.
