Foster Kids Need Support For Camping Trip

By Beth Hillyer

(KHNL) - When many kids go into foster care they are separted from their brohters and sisters. Now you can help these kids when they are reunited with their siblings at a campout.

Camp organziers are busy shopping for the necessities like sleeping bags. There are 22 children attending the campout and they need all kinds of things like backpacks full of mosquito repellant and flashlights.

Project Visitation organizer Moya Gray says, "Most of these kids we work with are separated from their brothers and sisters. They really don't have many ways to create family memories so our camp this year is really going to be about creating lifetime memories for the kids."

Organizers want to make sure each foster child has their own stuff for the trip but not all of the campers are covered.

They are still shopping for sleeping bags and flashlights but the money is running out.
