(KHNL) - A man is fatally shot on the Big Island and the suspect in the case is later killed as well.
Tuesday's shooting happened in the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision in Puna. The victim is a 28-year old man.
He was found with a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at 11:30 am.
A little more than two hours later, the man suspected of killing him - was also dead.
Detectives say that he was killed in a car crash not long after the shooting.
They say he was ejected from his truck on Akoni Pule Highway after crossing the center line and slamming into an embankment.
He was the only person in the truck.
Police say they are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
