Small Plane Crashes off Hawaii Kai

(KHNL) - A Cessna plane crashed about a mile offshore Hawaii Kai, between Spitting Caves and China Walls.  It happened at about 6PM Friday.

The Honolulu Fire Department's Rescue Crews were able to bring the two people who were onboard the plane to safety. According to Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Bryan Cheplic, the victims are a 31-year-old female and a 29-year-old male. Neither needed assistance from EMS.

The Coast Guard reports that the Federal Aviation Administration notified them at about 5:52 PM reporting a small plane declaring an emergency.
