AIEA (KHNL) - It's one of the largest donations for a planned community center in Kapolei.

The James Campbell Company and James and Abigail Campbell family are donating half a million dollars to the Salvation Army Kroc Center.

It'll be used to help complete construction of the multi-million dollar community center.

It'll be the largest community center in Hawaii.

"But it's more than just a nice building. With nice facilities that will house a couple of swimming pools, basketball courts, a performing arts center, some educational facilities," said Major Phil Lum, Kroc Center Project Director.

The center will provide programs and activities for all ages.

It'll be located on 12 acres of land on the corner of the new north-south road and east-west road in Kapolei.

It's expected to open in 2010.
