Hawaii Drought Potential

By Tiff Wells

(KHNL) - Leeward dryness is expected to continue through June, as rainfall totals are lower than normal across the state.

For the month of May, rain gages were reported to be less than 50% below normal conditions.

Water conservation notices have been posted for the Waimanalo area of Oahu and for portions of the Kau District on the Big Island.

No relief for these drought-like conditions is in sight.
