Schofield Barracks Soldiers Die in Iraq

SCHOFIELD BARRACKS (KHNL) - Two soldiers supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom died in Iraq. 

24-year-old 1st Lt. Keith Heidtman of Norwich, Connecticut and 32-year-old Chief Warrant Officer Theodore U. Church of Ohio died May 28th of wounds sustained when their helicopter crashed after receiving heavy enemy fire during combat operations. 

Six other soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb as they headed to the scene of the crash, which occurred in the Diyala province north of Baghdad.

Heidtman and Church were assigned to the 2nd Squadron 6th Cavalry Regiment, 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
