HONOLULU (KHNL) - For more than a decade the murder of a Pearl Harbor cashier went unsolved. Now a man may spend the rest of his life in prison for the crime.
A circuit court Judge handed down the life sentence to Jenaro Torres for the murder of Ruben Gallegos. Torres was convicted of killing Gallegos during a robbery of $80,000 from the Pearl Harbor navy exchange in may of 1992.
The cashier's body has never been found. Torres must serve 15 years in prison before he is eligible for parole.
