HONOLULU (KHNL) - The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a close call May 19 at Honolulu International between a "Go!" airline plane and a large military aircraft.
According to initial reports a large C-130 aircraft had landed and was taxiing back to Hickam Air Force Base when it began heading in the direction of the Go airplane.
"The pilot aparently misunderstood or missed the air traffic controler's instructions and taxied straight for the runway on which the other plane begun it's takeoff roll", said Ian Gregor of the FAA.
He says an alert air traffic controller told the pilot of the C-130 to stop immediately which he did.
