16-Year-Old Boy Shot In Chest From Drive-By Shooting In Aiea

AIEA (KHNL) - Investigators are looking into whether a shooting that critically wounded an Aiea teen Monday night is gang-related. The search for the gunman continues.

Police say a 16-year-old boy and his friends were in the Aiea Public Library parking lot at about 10:40 Monday night, when someone in the back seat of a passing car opened fire on them.

The victim has a gunshot wound to his chest. We aren't identifying him because of his age.

"He is still in the hospital," Sgt. Kim Buffett, Crimestoppers, said. "He's in (the Intensive Care Unit), and he's expected to recover."

The suspect's car is described as a black, newer-model, four-door Toyota with dark tinted windows.
