KIHEI, Maui (KHNL) - Honolulu police have located a third person they want to question in connection with the gang-land style shooting death of a man in Kaneohe Monday night. He's in custody at the Maui Community Correctional Center.
Police on Maui arrested Demetrius Smith on a $10,000 warrant. Officers caught the 28-year-old in Kihei at about 7:40 Thursday night. They say he's wanted in an unrelated drug case.
Honolulu police want to question Smith in connection with the murder of a California man on Kaneohe Bay Drive Monday night. Twenty-seven-year-old Benjamin Grajeda died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Two other suspects made their first court appearances in the case Thursday. Jerrico Lindsey is charged with murder, terroristic threatening, and four firearms offenses.
William Freeman is charged with kidnapping and hindering prosecution.
Smith has not been arrested in the Kaneohe case. But investigators from Honolulu are expected to fly to Maui to question him.
