HONOLULU (KHNL) - He says he didn't do it. A former pest control worker accused of killing a visitor from Japan appears before an Oahu judge and pleads not guilty Monday.

Twenty-two-year-old Kirk Lankford is arraigned by video hook-up from the Oahu Community Correctional Center. The Kalihi man is charged with murder in the disappearance of Masumi Watanabe.

Watanabe failed to return from a walk in Pupukea nearly a month ago. The 21-year-old's body hasn't been found.

Lankford's in custody, unable to post $1 million bail. His trial is scheduled for July.
