HILO, Hawaii (KHNL) - A 4.0 magnitude earthquake rattled the Hamakua Coast of Hawaii's big island at 5:35 AM Wednesday.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued no warnings or alerts. Officials say the quake did not generate a tsunami and there have been no reported aftershocks.
The USGS reports the quake was centered 26 miles northwest of Hilo and 6 miles WNW of Laupahoehoe.
Last Thursday, a 3.8 temblor was felt near the site of Kalapana, southeast of Hilo.
