(KHNL)- It's not your every day open house. This one took place on the water.
Rapture Marine Expeditions opened its ship to students between the sixth and twelfth grades. NOAA scientists, the University of Hawaii, and Marine Science Educators came out to help the kids understand the important research done on board.
"Everything is very hands on rather than looking in a text book to identify a fish. They go out snorkeling with slates and they can draw what they see under water and come back to the ship and identify it," said Andrew Reynaga, Lead Science Educator.
