KEEHI LAGOON (KHNL) - A Honolulu Fire Department rescue crew was called to Keehi Boat Harbor just after 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon after a witness reported seeing a body floating face down in the water. Authorities have determined that the body is that of an adult male.
Crews made their way to "Slipper Island", just outside of the harbor to retrieve the body.
A witness we spoke with said Slipper Island has become a collection zone for all kinds of debris.
"Slipper Island is kind of the catchment for everything that floats. Everything that goes in the water around here ends up at Slipper Island", said Randy Angelillo.
It is not known if foul play is suspected. The Honolulu Medical Examiner is scheduled to conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
