Jackie's Kitchen Launches Monthly Dinner Club Series

HONOLULU (KHNL) - JACKIE'S KITCHEN is growing up!  The popular eatery owned by superstar Jackie Chan and his partners at Ala Moana Center, has announced the JACKIE'S KITCHEN DINNER CLUB SERIES, the 3rd Tuesday of each month, at 6 p.m.  

This sophisticated monthly event to feature fine wine, sake, and even cocktails and beer, paired with gourmet courses the third Tuesday of every month.  This month's inaugural event features sake.

The event will feature fine wines or sake paired with gourmet courses throughout the evening, starting with cocktails and appetizers in the Bamboo Bar, then moving in to the private dining area for the dinner courses.  Chef Stephen "Mits" Hamada and new General Manager Teresa Martine (who is also a trained gourmet chef!) have collaborated on menus to make the dinner club series a true gourmet delight for all the senses!  Each event is $125 inclusive, per person. The dinner is limited to 40 guests.  Reservations required at 943-CHAN (2426).

HOW:    Dinner event featuring premiere sake paired with 6 courses. 40 openings only.  $125 inclusive.  Please RSVP AT 943-2426.

The menu for KAMPAI! THE ART OF SAKE will include:
1st Course/Appetizer - Sizzling Hamachi Sashimi on a Bed of Sushi Rice with a Soy-Ogo-Chili Drizzle
2nd Course - Lemongrass Bouillabaisse  with Mussels, Shrimp and Scallops
3rd Course - Pepper-seared Beef served on a bed of Arugula and with an Asian Citrus Vinaigrette
4th Course - Grilled Pork Tenderloin with a Black Cherry Demi Glace & Gorgonzola Polenta
5th Course - Pan-fried Seabass with Green Tea Soba & Masaman Curry
6th Course/Dessert - Chocolate-dipped Fortune Cookies with Rich Mousse Filling

Premium grade sakes, most of them from Niigata, Japan, but also some surprises, have been selected to bring the best flavor from each course, and vice-versa.

"Teresa and I spent a whole day taste-testing and drinking sake!" Chef Mits said with an impish smile. "Not a bad day at the office!  But seriously, I think our guests will really enjoy this dinner."

"We are truly excited about our new dinner series," said Martine.  "I think people will start to see how versatile Jackie's Kitchen is - from a comfortable family restaurant, to a hip, sophisticated bar and lounge, to a gourmet dining establishment."

Future Dinner Series events will be held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, on the following dates:  April 17, May 15, June 19, July 17, August 21, September 18, October 16, and November 20.  Themes and menus to be announced monthly.
