By Minna Sugimoto

NUUANU PALI (KHNL) - A hiker with sharp eyes helps Honolulu police catch three suspected copper thieves.

It happened along Pali Highway on the Kailua side of the tunnels Sunday. Investigators say the hiker saw the suspects rolling copper wire into a bundle and called 911.

Officers arrested 42-year-old Elnora Akana, 46-year-old Michael Bryan and 26-year-old Michael Schturngeist on suspicion of felony theft. Bail is set at $1,000 each.
