Teacher in Marijuana Case Remains on Paid Leave

HONOLULU (KHNL) - An Oahu teacher who gave up her court fight in a drug case remains on leave with pay. Lisa Luhrsen pleaded no contest to marijuana possession Thursday.

She and co-defendant Benjamin Ayson are teachers at Mililani Middle School. Police say the two were seen in a car off campus smoking marijuana on December 4th.

A judge granted Luhrsen a deferral, meaning she can wipe her record clean if she stays out of trouble for six months.

Ayson's trial is set for April.
