KAILUA (KHNL) - A windward Oahu school breaks ground for a 19-million dollar expansion. Le Jardin Academy in Kailua is expanding its campus.

It's adding 18 high school and middle school classrooms. Crews are also building a new gymnasium.

That'll bring other schools to the campus for sports competitions, allowing Le Jardin students to finally have home games. The expansion will also help to introduce a full, international baccalaureate program to the students.

"What is so nice about this is that it shows that a lot of people have a lot of confidence in our students. There is a huge investment going into their future and I believe our students will live up to that" says headmaster Adrian Allan.

Right now the school has 750 students. The expansion will allow it to increase its enrollment to 1100.
