Gunman in 2005 Police Standoff Receives Prison Sentence

(KHNL) -- A man who shot himself during a standoff with Honolulu police two years ago learns his fate Tuesday.

Arthur Pascual held officers at bay for 10 hours in October 2005. A judge Tuesday sentenced him to 10 years in prison for terroristic threatening, a firearms offense and two drug counts.

The standoff happened at the Plaza Hotel near the Honolulu International Airport. Court documents say Pascual fired two shots from a hotel room, and then shot himself under his chin when police moved in.
