Brush Fire Burns in Lahaina

LAHAINA (KHNL) - On Maui, the high winds may be fueling a brush fire that's burning in Lahaina, in the hills above the Puamana Subdivision.

Fire officials say the fire is moving mauka toward conservation land.

The fire was first reported at noon on Monday. Three helicopters and several fire trucks continue to work to put out the flames.

Fire officials say at least one person was evacuated from their home because of the fire.

Hokiokio place in the Puamana Subdivision is closed to traffic. Officials say no homes have been damaged, 300 acres have burned so far.
