HONOLULU (KHNL) - "Altar Boyz," the longest running new musical comedy to open in New York in years and winner of the coveted Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical Off-Broadway, comes to the Hawaii Theatre April 18-22, 2007 for six performances only.
According to Andrew Meader whose Meader Arts is presenting the engagement, "This is a hysterical musical about a heavenly guy-group. The music is infectious, the script is hilarious, and it leaves people of all ages laughing and singing when it¹s over." Currently on a national tour, "Altar Boyz" has been praised in the media, with such comments as "delightful dancing, singing....full of fun."
Local performances will be Wednesday to Saturday, April 18-22 at 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, April 21 and 22, at 2 p.m. Tickets are priced at $26- $49 adults, $21-38 students, seniors and military for the first two nights; $29-$59 adults and $23-43 students, seniors and military for the weekend performances. There also is a room and ticket package with Embassy Suites at the new Waikiki Beach Walk.
