HONOLULU (KHNL) - Sony Open Hero Tadd Fujikawa talked story with anchor Marvin Buenconsejo on Thursday's KHNL Today show.
The 16-year-old sophomore from Moanalua High School made the cut at the Sony Open. Fujikawa spoke about his meteoric rise to fame, then gave KHNL's anchor golf tips.
The amateur golfer says playing so well in the Sony Open was a dream, and he never thought he could do it at such a young age.
Fujikawa says the spotlight has been overwhelming.
"It's hard to keep up, to be out there, to keep up with the media, all of the interviews, but it's fun."
He says it was a tremendous experience playing with the pros at the Sony Open.
"I really learned a lot playing out there, seeing how their game is, the decisions they make, the way they make decisions on the course."
Fujikawa says he will never forget the way the fans embraced him.
"That was the greatest thing in the world, having that many people cheering behind you, and supporting you throughout the whole day. It was just the greatest feeling in the world."
