NORTH SHORE (KHNL) - Rescue teams this afternoon continue to search for a missing surfer on Oahu's North Shore.  Yesterday Joaquin Velilla left his home in Haleiwa to go surfing at Ehukai Beach Park. When Velilla failed to return home, his girlfriend drove to Ehukai Beach Park and located his car at 10:50 p.m.

Velilla is described as an experienced surfer and has a white 7'6" board with black rails, three fins, and his last name printed across the board.

Crews from the Coast Guard and the Barbers Point Air Station are scouring an area near Waimea Bay along the shoreline to Sunset Beach, and approximately five miles off shore.
