(KHNL) -- Get ready for more parking battles and long checkout lines. After a calm day on Christmas, traffic around shopping centers will pick up again Tuesday. The day after Christmas is one of the busier shopping days of the year.
There's no doubt about it. Holiday shopping can wipe you out.
"I meant to do it that first weekend," Daniel Han, Pearl City resident, said. "But, you know, that never happens. I ended up going back to the mall maybe about eight times."
"It was hectic," John Ferreira, Kalihi resident, said. "Traffic. Work. Tired."
So you'd think the last thing John Ferreira wants to do is head back to the malls. Guess again. He's cooking up the energy to hit the after-Christmas sales beginning Tuesday.
"It'll probably be crowded the same," he said. "But prices will vary on some items that we seen during the Christmas sale that probably goes down, and it has some rebates and some percentage cheaper."
Susan Yamamoto loves playing Santa, especially when it comes to her family.
"I enjoy looking for things that I know people will like," the Moiliili resident said. "So, yeah, if you're going to stress about it, then don't do it."
She'd join Ferreira and other shopaholics for the after-Christmas rush, if she didn't have to work.
"Yeah, I got really good bargains last year when I went," Yamamoto said.
But you won't find Daniel Han in the shopping mood anytime soon. After those eight grueling trips to the mall, he's had it.
"I figure, you know, if you need stuff really bad, you might as well do it before Christmas," he said. "You deal with the rush once. Why do it again?"
