HONOLULU (KHNL) - A Hawaii Filipino group is reaching out again to help Filipinos overseas. Some people from the Congress of Visayan Organizations flew to Guinsaugon in the Philippines in March to help victims of a massive mudslide. They worked out of St. Bernard Rural Clinic. It was there they realized the clinic lacks some key medical equipment. When they returned to Hawaii they raised money to buy one.
Dayday Hopkins of the COVO says, "That is one of the most pressing needs as far as medical equipment is concerned. It will help the victims and the community in general."
