Could this be Oahu's Future? Could this be Oahu's Future?

HONOLULU (KHNL) - The Honolulu City Council decided to postpone a vote on Oahu's mass transit route to next Tuesday. However late this afternoon the Council appears to be proceeding to a final vote.

Last week, the Committee on Transportation and Planning unanimously recommended the rail system to run from East Kapolei to Manoa.  Committee members chose to call it a fixed guiderail system, leaving buses and rail as possible options.

Mayor Hanneman is pushing for the "Green Route."  The mayor says his transit plan will eliminate some of the traffic in Ewa Beach.  The plan includes traveling around Kapolei to the North South Road.
