HONOLULU (KHNL) - It was all Ethiopia and Kenya for Sunday's Honolulu Marathon, as runners from those two African nations took the top 5 spots. But after 10 years Kenyan dominance, Ambesse Tolossa from Ethiopia won with the time of 2 hours, 13 minutes and 42 seconds. It was his first time competing in Honolulu.
Three-time defending champion Jimmy Muindi of Kenya finished second in an official time of 2:14:39.
Third place was Eric Wainana (2:16:08), in fourth was Araya Haregot (2:16:59), and fifth was Eric Nzioki (2:17:10).
